History

The founder

Wim Simonse began his professional journey in 2000 in Burkina Faso, where he spent 12 years living and working in agribusiness and training. He played a key role in setting up a cashew nut factory and organizing a cashew supply chain through farmer cooperatives.

Working closely with African farmers and processors strengthened his conviction that a more structural, data-driven solution was needed. Instead of fragmented interventions, agribusinesses required practical tools to improve efficiency, traceability, and market access.

Driven by hands-on field experience, he expanded his consultancy to agribusiness operators across Africa, working in multiple agricultural value chains, including cashew, vegetables, cereals, rubber, coffee, cocoa, and honey. His expertise spans business planning, process optimization, compliance with market standards, and export strategies to the EU.

From these insights, FarmerLink and FactoryLink were created: two powerful software applications designed to bridge the gap between farmers, processors, and markets. Together with an IT team in the Netherlands, ExoLink developed these platforms to provide real-time data, smart analytics, and compliance support, enabling agribusinesses to work more efficiently and compete globally.
